My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Romeo came to his foster home with a long matted coat that made him look huge. He had to be groomed and shaved down to remove the terrible mats, and after doing so, it turns out he’s just a little guy! He's a 9 pound Shih Tzu mix, neutered, and about 11 years old. Romeo is so sprightly, he seems to float up the two steps into his foster parents’ kitchen, and he jumps down from the bed or a chair so easily he seems younger than his years!

Romeo walks well on a leash, is interested in other dogs and people he meets, seems calm around children, and generally lives peaceably with his foster parents’ other two small dogs and cat. His foster parents think he was accustomed to eating people food, because when they eat, he wanted what they were eating. He did, however, quickly accept eating just dog food, and now eats almost as fast (and as much) as their other dogs. Romeo was apparently used to sleeping with his owner, and when allowed on his foster parents’ bed, he likes to burrow under the covers and sleep there! Romeo is a great lap dog, likes to be under a blanket even when on a lap, and he is affectionate with his kisses. He is just a great little companion dog with lots of years left and lots of love to give. His foster parents are hoping to find an adoptive home where someone is home with him for at least part of the day. A home that has older, gentle, respectful children would be okay too.

Romeo is in great health, is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and is microchipped. His adoption fee is $120.00 plus sales tax of $8.73 for a total $128.73. His foster parents are willing to drive within one hour of the Twin Cities for an adoptive home. They would also encourage his adopters to attend the rescue reunion held in June every year.
