My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Peanut!
Peanut, according to his foster mom, is about as good as a dog gets! This 3-year-old, 8-lb. Jack Russell mix is 100 percent potty-trained, no accidents! She wants nothing more than to love her favorite human all day long -- and get lots of belly rubs, of course!

She's working on being less nervous around strangers and other dogs. Her foster mom doesn't see Peanut in an only dog home, though -- while she can't play with her older, blind canine foster sibling, Peanut seems to like having her around. She gets along great with kids, though!

Peanut walks great on a leash, keeping a perfect pace and never pulling. Her foster mom thinks she could be a good casual jogging partner. This little one is very eager to please -- she learned "sit" in about 10 minutes! Because she can be a wanderer, a home with a fenced-in yard would be best. Peanut is a wonderful dog and would do well in any home -- as long as it includes belly rubs!

Peanut’s adoption fee is $200 and she’s located in Whitefish Bay, WI. Because all our Cupids are fostered in private homes, an approved application MUST be on file before proceeding with a meet-and-greet. The online application can be found at http://www.caninecupids.org/adopt-.html.

Our Thoughts on Visual Breed Identification
Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable. For most of our adoptable Cupids we are only guessing at the predominant breed or breed mix. We think it’s most important is to get to know each dog as an individual! We then do our best to describe each of our adoptable Cupids based on their personalities in order to determine whether they’ll make good companions based on prospective adopters’ lifestyles. Dog behavior is not exclusive to breed — it’s a complex mix of nature and nurture.
