WINSTON's Story...
ADOPTED! WINSTON (formerly named BamBam) is a sweet, mellow Pekingese boy who has been through hard times. His owners were elderly and couldn't properly care for him and he was sadly surrendered to a 'shelter' that consisted of a garage with no heat. This poor boy was found shivering in the cold by a volunteer who contacted Dolly's Legacy to see if we could help him find his way to happiness. Winston is approximately 5 yrs old and really just wants a warm & comfy place to watch the world go by. He is such a sweet boy, he lays his head on your lap gazing up at you with his big, brown, sad, Peke eyes as you pet him. He would likely do best in a quiet household as most Pekes do, where he can just soak up as much TLC as someone will give to him.
Winston has been neutered, microchipped, heartworm tested (negative), vaccinated, dewormed and is ready to find a new home where he will be cherished as a family member. Adoption fee is $200. For adoption guidelines and to submit an application, please go to this link: http://dollyslegacyanimalrescue.org/adopt/

Why Adoption is a Great Option

WINSTON, a Lincoln Pekingese dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Pekingese for sale in Lincoln, or seeking a Pekingese dog from a breeder in Lincoln.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Lincoln already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Lincoln breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Pekingese breeders who help with Pekingese rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Lincoln paves the way for another one to be saved.
