Rusty's Story...
11/21/14:RUSTY HAS BEEN ADOPTED! CONGRATS TO RUSTY AND HIS NEW MOM LINDA! WE WISH YOU MANY HAPPY YEARS TOGETHER!11/15/14: RUSTY IS PENDING ADOPTION! Rusty is a 4 year old chihuahua/dachshund mix who came in with Shotsie and Little Girl. Their mom developed dementia and was unable to care for them anymore. Their caretaker contacted us to help them find new homes. It appears that the dogs have all been well cared for but since we have just gotten them in, we do not know much about their temperaments or personalities yet. We would assume that since he lived with an elderly lady, he would probably prefer a quiet home with older people or adults. All three dogs should make great companions and should be fun travelers if you like a traveling buddy! Rusty will be available for $150 which will help us to cover his cost of vetting and daily care while with us. Please fill out an adoption application and email us your interest if you would like to learn more about Rusty! You may also call us @ (352)493-1255 for more information. If no answer, please leave a detailed message with the name of the pet that you are calling about and we will return your call as soon as we get your message. Pics available soon!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Rusty, a Chiefland Chihuahua/Dachshund dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua/Dachshund for sale in Chiefland, or seeking a Chihuahua/Dachshund dog from a breeder in Chiefland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Chiefland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Chiefland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua/Dachshund breeders who help with Chihuahua/Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Chiefland paves the way for another one to be saved.
