My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello People,
My name is Joey and I’m an adoring and adorable Bichon boy of about eight who is equal parts sweetness and loving. I am also an AKC-registered bichon who happens to be a darling guy that is great with people, kids, other furkids – and bigger dogs, too. My foster Mom says I have eyes that look straight into her heart and soul - and that I’m a delightful, gentle and mannerly bichon ready to become the bestest companion to some lucky family!
There is no doubt that I’m very smart - and catch on quickly. Mom loves my gentle spirit and sweet expressions. My sister says I’m housebroken, love my walks and car rides – and that I truly enjoy a good cuddle – as well as balls and squeaky toys! (I simply love the sound of those toys!) After a long day of cuddling, walking and playing fetch (with or without my doggy foster brothers), I curl up in the Big People’s bed near Mom and sleep peacefully through the night.
My life has certainly changed a lot in the past few weeks. You see, the Mom I had from the time I was a puppy until sometime in October became very frail- and could no longer do the things that we did together. When she got sick someone in the family took me to this place called a ‘shelter’ – but they didn’t understand that shelters aren’t good places for little guys like me (and quite a shock to a FurKid who spent his entire life in a loving home.) Fortunately for me, my BFK Aunties found out about me and I became a FurKid. And that’s the best thing that could have happened.
Now I’m with a family that is loving and takes care of me. I have a foster Mom who is kind, gives me lots of pets (she said I quietly come up to her for attention) and finds me loving, gentle, eager to please and a master cuddle bug. I rarely bark, love to snuggle (on the bed or couch) and know some commands too. She says I’m so smart that I could easily learn more too. What I really need now is a forever family to call my own. Will you be the one for me? If you think you are, please complete our application so we can meet.
So if you are looking for a love of a guy with eyes that shine and who is waiting to share his life with you please ask for me.
Tail wags and bichon waves,
Joyful and Joyous Joey
