My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This is Huey. Huey is a 1 year old, neutered bichon who was picked up as a stray and rescued from a shelter. His fur was incredibly matted and he had to be shaved. He's underweight at 10 lbs from his time on the streets, but otherwise healthy and getting plenty of good food and snacks. This boy is no picky eater!
Huey lives in a foster home with 4 other dogs and get along great with all of them. He's pretty submissive and usually keeps to himself, although he does like to romp and run with his foster sisters in the yard. He doesn't play much with toys but loves to cuddle on the couch or lay your lap. At night, or when left alone, he will sleep in a bed on the floor. He's also does fine in a crate.
Huey is very well mannered and house trained. He does his business quickly and will even give a little scratch at the door when he's ready to come in. Huey walks well on a leash, but can be skittish around moving cars.
For a boy who's been through a rough time, Huey is very calm and reserved. He would do well in a relatively calm home that can make sure he gets lots of love and doesn't get lost in the shuffle. Since he's pretty mellow most of the time, he would do okay with someone who worked full time. He's quick to warm up to people. And when he does, he loves to give kisses! He hasn't been observed around cats, except to say that he gets very excited and barks a lot when he sees the neighbor's cat on the other side of the fence. He hasn't been observed around children, so should be placed in a home with children aged 10 or older. He would love a fenced in yard so he can safely explore the yard. He gets excited when he sees critters and loves to chase them.
Huey will make someone a wonderful companion who is ready to for his forever home.

He is being lovingly fostered in the East Tennessee area.
