Goose's Info...

I am already spayed, housetrained, a special needs pet, in need of an experienced adopter, up to date with shots, not good with kids, and good with dogs.

Goose's Story...
Meet Goose! Goose came into the rescue with a history of behavior problems. She even was adopted once but was returned because of fear of sounds, unknown aggression and out of control behavior. Once back into a foster home it was finally seen why! Goose was having silent seizures that had gone unnoticed for some time. With medication she has shown amazing improvement and is now looking for a family she can call her own. She has lived in a home with cats and runs with other foster dogs. Goose still shows aggression to people at times and will need an experienced owner who will continue to train her and keep her active.

We are waiving the adoption fee of $175.00 and accepting donations of the adopters choice to help our Most Unwanted (those who have been in our program over 3 months) find forever homes. All dogs are spayed/neutered, tested for heartworm and tick borne diseases, microchipped and vaccinated for rabies, distemper/parvo and bordetella. They are also treated for internal and external parasites if needed. Many dogs also receive extensive medical care such as surgeries and dentals. Why Adoption is a Great Option

Goose, a Staunton Border Collie dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Border Collie for sale in Staunton, or seeking a Border Collie dog from a breeder in Staunton.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Staunton already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Staunton breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Border Collie breeders who help with Border Collie rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Staunton paves the way for another one to be saved.
