My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Maple is a 3 - 4 year old, mixed breed beauty who came to Augusta Dog Adoptions from a rural shelter in Virginia. Maple was very frightened, pregnant and about to have her babies when she arrived to us. We had to lift her into the back of the car because she was so scared and wouldn’t walk on a leash. After getting her settled in and trying to gain her trust, she went into labor and had 4 healthly pups that night.

Maple was a good mom and raised her pups which have now all been adopted. She remains very frightened of loud noises and sudden moves. She has been around a lot of dogs in her foster home and gets along well with them. She is very submissive. Maple needs a little time to adjust around new adults and children, but once she gains your trust she will love you forever and let you pet her all day long. She uses a doggie door to go into a large fenced in area. Maple enjoys spending time outside.

Maple is in need of a home that is rather quiet and someone willing to give her time to get familiar in her new surroundings and work with her on her leash training. She is still very frighted of walking on a leash and shuts down when one is on her.

Maple is a wonderful girl that we are proud to say we saved. Now, we need to find her that forever home that we promise to all of our foster dogs! Is it with you
