Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Alice is eight pounds of doggie spunk who is looking for her forever home. She is inquisitive yet shy and can be a bit overwhelmed. She missed out on some socialization as a puppy, but at 2 years old will grow into a well rounded dog. She has done well at meeting new friends and learning how to adjust to new experiences. She needs a home where her parents will introduce her to new situations and reassure her while she is acclimating to new surroundings. Alice does not do well with small, loud and grabby children. Homes with adults only or older (10 and up) respectful children – we’re sorry, no small children or frequent small visitors – will be considered for her adoption.
Alice is dependably house broken and is a very respectful house guest. She generally sleeps in her crate at night and is very quiet. She is very calm once she is comfortable and asks for little besides love. She will join you on the couch at night and really soaks up petting with a soft touch. A fenced yard for her to explore would make her very happy, or trips to a small dog park to run and play. She loves her foster mom’s big back yard and is learning to play with her foster sisters and brother. She has previously lived with two cats and is cat compatible.
Alice is healthy, spayed, up to date on vaccinations, is on heart worm preventative, and is micro-chipped. Her adoption fee is $396.92, including sales tax. Alice’s foster family would like her to live within a reasonable driving distance of the Twin Cities. They would also like Alice and her new family to attend the Shih Tzu Rescue Reunion which is held each year on the third weekend in June.
Before contacting Shih Tzu Rescue of Minnesota regarding any dog, please thoroughly read the Adoption Information at http://www.shihtzurescuemn.org/adopt.html first to help you understand the process, requirements and timeline for adoption. You will also find an online adoption application there. To meet Alice and other dogs available for adoption from Shih Tzu Rescue of Minnesota, please visit with us from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Minnetonka Petco near Ridgedale the last Saturday of every month.
