Can you even believe that this little darling is homeless? August came to us from our Newark facility in when she was picked up as a stray, and we can't imagine how anyone could let her get away. August is a 10 year old shih tzu that was wandering the streets all alone. She was a bit disheveled and matted when she arrived but now, she's healthy, happy, and ready for a home. August is a petite little lady that is very well behaved. She walks like a little princess on a leash and takes treats very gently. August is a bit shy upon meeting new people but once she's had a chance to get to know you, she's very trusting and relaxed. August gets along just fine with other well behaved dogs and she would prefer a home with mature, older children. She is hoping for a wonderful home where she will get lots of long, leisurely strolls and have a warm lap to snuggle up in at night. Please don't be deterred by her age, August has many good years ahead of her that she would love to spend with a family that will welcome her with open arms and never leave her all alone again.
