Herbie's Story...
Herbie is our adorable little senior guy who was pulled from a local shelter after being dumped. He was used as a breeder his entire life and when he was no longer useful, ended up at the shelter. We took him in, had him neutered and fully vetted, including a dental. He has proven to be very friendly, loving all he meets including kids, cats and dogs. He has also learned how awesome fluffy beds and sweaters are. He is approximately 10 years old and a very nice little dog who is loving actually being able to experience life!

<p> All MVPC dogs are heart worm tested, completely vetted, spayed/neutered, microchipped, crate trained and on a great potty training schedule. Herbie's adoption fee is $175.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Herbie, a Dayton Shih Tzu dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shih Tzu for sale in Dayton, or seeking a Shih Tzu dog from a breeder in Dayton.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Dayton already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Dayton breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shih Tzu breeders who help with Shih Tzu rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Dayton paves the way for another one to be saved.
