Maggie's Story...
Maggie is a 1.5 year old, spayed, lab/beagle mix.

She was dumped at a rural Garage last summer. Luckily for Maggie, the owner of this Garage is a long time supporter of Homeward Bound and they were committed to saving this sweet girl. They took the time necessary to convince Maggie it is okay to trust people, so they could catch her and get her into a foster home.

Maggie loves playing with other dogs, and would most likely get along with cats, but we aren't sure of this just yet. She is learning to walk on a leash.

Maggie's shots, spay and micropchip are included in her adoption fee of $150.00

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Maggie, a Irmo Shepherd (Unknown Type) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shepherd (Unknown Type) for sale in Irmo, or seeking a Shepherd (Unknown Type) dog from a breeder in Irmo.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Irmo already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Irmo breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shepherd (Unknown Type) breeders who help with Shepherd (Unknown Type) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Irmo paves the way for another one to be saved.
