Louie's Story...
Louie is a Dachshund mix with an estimated birth date of 9/8/14, he is going to be a small to median sized dog as he weighs 12.5 pounds on 12/18/14. He and his sister Gucci were found discarded on the side of a rural road and rescued by H.A.R.T. Louie is deaf and sight-challenged in the right eye. He can see shadows and light out of the right eye. It would be best for him to be adopted into a family with another dog. You wouldn’t know that he is deaf from his behavior except he doesn’t came when called, as he plays the same as his sister with the foster dogs. Louie is a happy go lucky puppy who loves to wrestle and chase and be chase by the other pups. He is neutered, up to date with shots, mircro-chipped, good with children and other dogs. He is working on his house training but still needs some work. If you are interested in providing a forever home for Louie please contact H.A.R.T. to set up a meet and greet.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Louie, a Cincinnati Dachshund puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund for sale in Cincinnati, or seeking a Dachshund puppy from a breeder in Cincinnati.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Cincinnati already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Cincinnati breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund breeders who help with Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Cincinnati paves the way for another one to be saved.
