My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

**This foster is only considering applications from potential adopters within a one-hour drive of the metro Milwaukee area.**

NOTE: All our Cupids are fostered in private homes. An approved application MUST be on file before proceeding with meet-and-greet. The online application can be found at http://www.caninecupids.org/adopt-.html.

Meet Sissy!
This beauty is a purebred Old English Bulldog and weighs 55 pounds. She is kennel-trained, likes cats, is selective about which dogs she considers friends, and is a fan of older kids (e.g., age 9 and up).

Sissy is a laid-back, quiet girl who prefers cuddling over exercise. If you like a moderate amount of exercise, Sissy might be the girl for you -- a daily 20-40 minute walk on cool and comfy days is plenty! A fenced-in yard would be even better for those excessively hot days when Sissy is not a fan of walks.

This girl is just fine with being an only dog, and is very selective about the canines she chooses to call "friend." If you are considering Sissy as a second dog, her future fur-sibling would need to be as chill as she is! Sissy loves attention and affection, so an experienced dog owner who had time to properly introduce Sissy into the family would be required. She is, however, just fine with cats.

She likes being in her kennel when she's home alone (and sometimes even when you're home!). Car rides are another of her favorites, along with chewing on Nyla bones, a game of toss, and--of course--treats! She doesn't really care for all the excitement at the dog park.

This sweet girl will be three years old soon, and she'd love to celebrate that birthday in her very own forever home. Could it be yours?

Sissy’s adoption fee is $300 and she is being fostered in southeastern Wisconsin. Because all our Cupids are fostered in private homes, an approved application MUST be on file before proceeding with a meet-and-greet. The online application can be found at http://www.caninecupids.org/adopt-.html.

Our Thoughts on Visual Breed Identification
Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable. For most of our adoptable Cupids we are only guessing at the predominant breed or breed mix. We think it’s most important is to get to know each dog as an individual! We then do our best to describe each of our adoptable Cupids based on their personalities in order to determine whether they’ll make good companions based on prospective adopters’ lifestyles. Dog behavior is not exclusive to breed — it’s a complex mix of nature and nurture.
