My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Little Malena somehow ended up at a high-kill shelter in her senior years. Our little 5lb nothing can't figure out how she ended up there, but we are glad she is now with us! She is approximately nine years old and believed to be a chihuahua-dachshund mix. Malena gets along well with other animals, and currently lives in a home with dogs and cats.

Because of her age, she does have a few health issues, all of which are easily treatable. She has a thyroid condition, which means she is hairless and will need to be on thyroid medicine for the remainder of her life. She also has an enlarged heart which requires daily medicine. In addition, all her teeth were rotten and were pulled when she was spayed, but that certainly doesn't stop her from eating. She has a VERY hearty appetite and LOVES taking her pills in a bit of peanut butter. She requires very minimal exercise because of her age and is most happy snuggled in your lap. She is crate trained and does relatively well with house training as long as she is let out frequently. This sweet, mature lady still has lots of love left to give and is the perfect girl to adorn in sweaters.

"Lena" currently takes the following medication twice a day:

Enalapril, 2.5 mg (1/2 tablet) - roughly $12 every six months
Soloxine 0.1 mg (1/2 tablet) - roughly $12 every six months

Malena's adoption fee is $200. She comes fully vetted, spayed, microchipped and we provide all of her medical records. All inquiries begin with a submitted adoption application which is found on our website, www.miamivalleypitcrew.com! Little Lena is waiting!
