My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

The Kid 6 month old male Brown and White Bicolor Siamese Ragdoll mix

This little boy had a difficult beginning in life. Adopted as a young kitten he was quickly not wanted by his new family. It sounds like maybe they didn’t know what to do with a kitten. He was put in their less than lovely garage and kept there. He was so lonely, and bored and cold. Oh how he wanted company. "Help me!! I am in here all by myself” A caring neighbor heard his cries and arranged his release from the family. The neighbor contacted Purebreds “Yes ,of course” I said “Purebreds would take him in and I would be happy to foster him” So this wonderful woman got a signed Owner Surrender Form and drove him a couple hours to get him to me. Just like that.

“My goodness” I thought when I first saw him “He is so little and SO cute.” A perfect little kitten. He certainly wanted to be held and petted. You could see the lack of confidence from his isolation and his sort of sensory deprivation vying in him with his natural kitten energy and curiosity. It hasn’t taken him long to learn what life can offer . ( FUN ! ) Today we let him out with other kittens. He was scared of them but only momentarily and soon he was learning to play with them. He has a zest for life and play. He wound around my legs and looked at me “Hello Hello Hello. Here I am. I love being around you.!”

He’s a treat. I named him The Kid because that’s what he is. He is a happy, playful, curious, affectionate, somewhat needy little guy who is a darling. He is just what a kitten should be.

The Kid needs a happy home where he will get lots of love and attention. He is a goof ball and wants to play with every single thing he sees. Given his previous loneliness I would not be surprised if he is extra grateful for and needy for love all his life. I would not put him with children under 4 feet tall. He’s a nut and gets excited. He will nibble on you or jump on you unexpectedly or crash into you as he runs about. He does not know what to do with all his energy sometimes. This is a growth stage in kittens and I am sure he will grow a bit more dignified as he ages. He seems to be cat friendly but could annoy an elderly cat who wants to be left alone. He would do best with a playmate about his age give or take a year or two who enjoys running about and being silly.

He eats wet and dry food and is litterbox perfect.

My apologies for the blurry photos, he was having too much fun to sit still and pose or me.Tomorrow is another day.

His foster mom is Harriet in Santa Cruz.
