He might be only 15 pounds, but in his mind this guy is a full-fledged Prince! And what a triumph that is, because Manny was barely recognizable as a dog when he was found wandering on his own in Arkansas, a big matted clump of dog hair who could barely see where he was going. Thankfully he bumped into the right passerby who saw through the matting and knew there was a dog in there waiting to emerge. And emerge he has!! Manny is a true character!! He's about 5 years old (nicely past his puppy stage) and he's mostly a mellow couch potato, hanging out on the couch watching TV with his foster mom. He loves following her during the day, making sure all the household chores are being done right, and is happy to be a backseat driver when they go for errands. He's a bit of a chowhound and would benefit from learning to enjoy his food rather than inhale it, but we think once he knows food will be plentiful and dependable, he'll get better. The other thing he needs to learn is to share his people. He's grown fond of his foster mom, and hates when the other dogs (who also love her) try to get their fair share of love. For that reason, we believe Manny will be best placed as an only pet and rightfully get all the attention for himself -- hasn't he earned that?? He has not been tested with children so we would prefer homes with no kids or teenagers and older.
