Meet Mr. Charlie! Mr. Charlie is a super cute Schnauzer and terrier mix. He is 5 years old and weighs 10 lbs. Mr. Charlie comes when he is called, and knows how to sit and give paw on command. He is housebroken, walks nicely on a leash, and has a lot of personality! Mr. Charlie spends most of his day taking naps on a dog bed.
Mr. Charlie is a cute little guy who likes to sleep. He tolerates other dogs but isn't much to play or interact. He will growl a bit if a dog comes near him while he is sleeping. He could live with a dog in his forever home who keeps to themselves and wouldn't bother him much. At the moment he is coexisting with 2 other dogs with no issues.
Mr. Charlie sleeps all night in his crate without making a noise. He is very excited to see his foster mom in the morning!
Here is a basic day in Mr. Charlie's life - He is gotten out of his crate at some point in the morning and he wags his tail and runs around the house in exuberance. He then goes to the door and goes outside into the fenced in yard for potty time. He scratches at the door to let us know that he is ready to come back in. He eats a little bit of breakfast then scratches at the door to go back outside to do his business. He will sit and give paw for a treat and he loves to eat treats! Once he is finished with all of his important tasks for the day he will curl up on a dog bed to nap for a few hours. He loves his foster mom and even likes his foster dad too! He allows her to handle him and likes to get attention and positive reinforcement from her. Mr. Charlie can be a little bit crabby when he is sleeping. When he shows this behavior he is asked to move from his spot and he does so on his own. He has gotten very good at this, although his body language does show tension in these cases. This is something that we are working on with him and he responds very well to treats and positive reinforcement.
Mr. Charlie is a great little companion and is extremely loyal. We are looking for an adopter for him that will understand his quirks and work with him on gaining confidence and stability. Training classes are recommended for Mr. Charlie.
