Popeye's Story...
Popeye is a great little man! He is a Shih Tzu and only about 5 lbs. This little guy was a stray and so we're working on putting on some weight. He is around the age of 6 give or take. He does great with other dogs. He likes to give them baths, esp their ears! I haven't seen him around cats. Does fantastic with kids. A two year old can give him a hug and a kiss, he just stands there. He likes to gives kisses and be cuddled. His coat is very soft. He's pretty much potty trained. Just needs help with the doggy door. He has trouble seeing it with his one eye. He likes to be outside and wander around. He would probably stay out longer if it wasn't so cold. He does well in the crate, but doesn't prefer it. Can sleep through the night. Easy going and quiet. Doesn't bark. Loves to be petted and know someone is around. Would do well with another dog or two around his size to play with. If you are interested in Popeye please fill out an interest form on There is an adoption fee.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Popeye, a Las Vegas Shih Tzu dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shih Tzu for sale in Las Vegas, or seeking a Shih Tzu dog from a breeder in Las Vegas.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Las Vegas already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Las Vegas breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shih Tzu breeders who help with Shih Tzu rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Las Vegas paves the way for another one to be saved.
