My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Spencer: 11 to 12 month old male Red and White Turkish Angora

February Update: Spencer is doing so well. As he has settled in with us he has become a total lovebug. He loves attention.& He grows more beautiful everyday. He gets along with other non dominant cats but he would be happy being the only cat in the household and getting all the love for himself…

He is a little boy now, but as he matures in the next two years, he will grow into a magnificent big armful of warm kitty. He has had a hard start start in life as it seems so many of my kittens have this year. Spencer was found behind a Kentucky Fried Chicken in San Luis Obispo. Was he lost or was he left? We’ll never know. A very kind cat lover brought him up to me. I don’t think he was outside long, according to this woman, but of course it would be distressing to any kitten to be suddenly outside and alone. He was not entirely alone, however; he was threatened constantly by the cats that live there to scavenge food from the KFC dumpsters. This danger he was in is particularly why his rescuer knew he had to get out of there to somewhere safe.

So when he arrived he was pretty upset and frightened. He did, however, show us that he liked attention and was glad to be with us. He pulled towards us in his need for love and attention and away from us in his fear of something new. He is definitely a sweet boy. As he has come out of his shell and his desire to hide, he has started playing with other cats. This is great for him. He is cat friendly and would probably like to live with a confident friendly mentor cat. I haven’t had him long and already he growing in confidence and happy kitten-ness.

Spencer is a beautiful boy. I love how graceful he is as he lounges, as if to say “Hey I’m cool." He has a soft silky coat which will only get more thick and beautiful as he grows. They say Turkish Angora cat genes were the original source of the beautiful coat of the Persian breed. If you look closely, you can see he is developing his big ruff around his neck which will grow more and more regal looking and prominent.

Spencer needs a fairly quiet home with other friendly kitties where he can grow up and blossom. He is still a baby kitty now.

His new family will have a strikingly beautiful, sweet companion.

He eats wet and dry food and is litterbox perfect.

HIs foster mom is Harriet in Santa Cruz.
