Rico's Story...
Rico is what you might call a "one person dog." When he first arrived at the shelter, Rico was practically scared of his own shadow. He just couldn't cope with all the commotion, new people, and other animals. Because of his issues with trust, we ultimately decided the best solution for Rico was to place him in foster care... that way he can begin to see what a dog's life should really be. Now, Rico improves every day. He absolutely loves lap time and is beginning to show his foster family his true sweetness. Better still, Rico is learning all the proper indoor manners. There's no doubt that Rico will take lots of time adjusting to a new home, but his unique personality also ensures that he will bond very, very closely with that one special person who is willing to have patience with him.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Rico, a Larned Miniature Pinscher/Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Miniature Pinscher/Chihuahua for sale in Larned, or seeking a Miniature Pinscher/Chihuahua dog from a breeder in Larned.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Larned already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Larned breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Miniature Pinscher/Chihuahua breeders who help with Miniature Pinscher/Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Larned paves the way for another one to be saved.
