Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Russell is a Take Me Home courtesy post. Russell is not affiliated with Take Me Home. He is not under our care. Take Me Home is not responsible for any adoptions through private parties. If you or someone you know is interested in adopting Russell, and would like more information, please contact the foster at cfan@pasadenapetshospital.com.
Russell is a special needs 10 month old Shepherd/Chow mix puppy, that came to a veterinary hospital, after an accident that fractured his spine and resulted in the loss of use of his back legs. His future was very uncertain at that point, but lucky for him, a few strangers decided to donate their time & money to give Russell a chance. After 4 months of physical rehabilitation, and a lot of love, care, and donations from many people along the way, we are happy to report that Russell is now standing and walking on his own. He has even regained the ability to wag his tail! He is currently at CARE animal rehabilitation center, getting socialization, acupuncture, and physical therapy to help strengthen the muscles in his backlegs, as he gets used to walking again.
Although he may always be a little uncoordinated in his back legs, this sweet dog is ready to find a new family and begin the rest of his life. He is very affectionate with people and does well with most dogs.
