Here's what the humans have to say about me:
This is Murphy. He is a sweet, loving little dog. We believe he is a large Yorkie or possibly a Yorkie/Silky terrier mix. Because he is a Yorkie, or a Yorkie mix, he has hair instead of fur and he does not shed. Although he is a little large for a Yorkie, he is a good size--not too big or too small. He weighs about 12 pounds. He has been aged at 18 months to 2 years of age and is very gentle. Murphy is very calm in the house and loves to curl up next to you on the sofa.
Murphy is well behaved in the house. He has not showed any tendency to chew on anything other than occasionally a dog toy. When we first got him, he wasn’t sure what was going on. He was a little bit lost but after a couple of days he became more comfortable and his personality began to come out. He started to come up to us and cuddle. He likes the company of people and will follow me from room to room.
Murphy seems to be housetrained. I let him out periodically and after the first day he learned the routine and since then, he has not had any accidents. I have been crating him during the day while I am at work and he does not have accidents in his crate. .
Murphy would benefit from some obedience training. He loves to go on walks, but he is easily distracted by all of the smells and activities, and tends to pull on his leash and sniff a lot.
Murphy gets along well with other dogs. We have a puppy in the house and he is gentle and plays well with the puppy. Murphy does have a tendency to want to chase cats. We have been working on that and he has come a long way—but if the kitty runs, he still wants to chase it.
Murphy’s foster family lives in the 75074 zip code and due to our process of a home visit and trial before adoption her potential new family must live within 15-20 miles of that zip code.
Murphy will be an awesome new family member for the right home. If you are interested in Murphy, complete an application today.
The application is not a commitment.

We are only able to adopt to homes within a reasonable driving distance of the dog's foster home and please be prepared for a home visit by one of our volunteers. We do not adopt on first-come-first-served basis, we want to make sure the dog is right for the family and vice versa based on what we know about the dog's personality, habits and behaviors. Our adoption fee for dogs is $175. You can complete an online adoption application on our website http://www.furryfriendsanimalrescue.org- we will get back with you asap.
