My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi! My name is Willie Nelson and I am a feisty, frosty-faced senior man weighing in around 12 lbs. Although my days of chasing balls and running with the pack are behind me, I still have lots of laps to fill. I am a special needs doggy and should be with an experienced doxie person. I need to watch my diet to ensure healthy organs (I am not fat) and I need a little help getting outside. I can use the doggy door & ramp at my foster mom's, and I get along fine with my fur brothers and sisters. I don't have much interest in little kids or cats - I am perfectly happy to be on my own. If you have a big heart and a soft spot for cute & crotchety old men, then I am the one for you. Email my foster mom Terri for more details.

If you are interested in adopting WILLIE NELSON, you can fill out an application right on our website! Go to dreamhappytails.org/adoptform.shtml. WILLIE NELSON 's adoption fee is $250. All adoption fees go directly to veterinary care for DREAM dachshunds. WILLIE NELSON will go to his new home microchipped, neutered, heartworm tested, and up to date on vaccinations. Most dogs' veterinary expenses are greater than our adoption fees.

DREAM is an all-volunteer rescue group, and we focus on the Atlanta, North Georgia and Savannah area. Because we are all volunteers, we can consider applications only within an hour of these areas. DREAM does not recommend purebred dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a doxie's back.
