Marmelade's Story...
Another of our playful cats available for adoption!

Marmelade is a sweet cuddly guy who is always happy to greet you as soon as his door opens. His foster mom said he always liked to jump up and put his paws on her shoulders to greet her each day too!

He loves to play along with the kittens. He still thinks, plays and acts like he is a kitten but he is 5 times their size! Marmalade REALLY loves to play and chase things which makes it hard to get a good picture of him as he is always so busy playing! Marmalade is really cute when we bring out the cat treats. He meows at first sight of the treat bag and will continue to ask for more.

Marmelade was rescued from an overcrowded home in Ajax. We think he may have spent his younger days in a crate as he was very shy at first but has become a lot more confident after spending time with his foster mom. He has a more dominant personality when around other cats but would be fine in a home with a kitten or another more confident, friendly cat. He would also be fine on his own in a single cat home.

Come play with Marmelade at PetSmart Oakville so he can talk you into taking him home to play some more!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Marmelade, a Oakville Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Oakville, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Oakville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Oakville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Oakville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Oakville paves the way for another one to be saved.
