Denise's Story...
THIS IS DENISE
Denise is a gentle, light grey tabby who came to Bedford Humane asking for help all on her own. It took us a few days to catch her, but it became pressing to rescue this sweet girl when she developed a limp that probably came from a close call with a car. Thankfully she seemed to only have bruises & a sprained hip. We are guessing her to be a fairly young adult who once had people who cared for her because, once Denise was captured, she quickly has become a lovemuffin. We think she was born about 2012. She will play with toys, but much prefers being petted & brushed. She quietly makes little raccoon noises when she is talked to. She is friendly with children & seems tolerant of dogs. She would prefer not to live too closely with other cats. Denise is now spayed, fully vaccinated, dewormed, & microchipped. She tested negative for FeLV & FIV & had normal blood tests. To meet Denise, please contact LMHANDVTM@msn.com or 540/586-6100. Go to www.bhsva.org/adoptions-home.htm to fill out an Adoption Application.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Denise, a Bedford Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Bedford, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Bedford.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Bedford already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Bedford breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Bedford paves the way for another one to be saved.
