Here's what the humans have to say about me:
FOSTER LOCATION: Boise, ID
Evie is a very sweet 10 year old Cairn Terrier/Yorkie mix (our best guess) weighs in at just 9 pounds. Even though she is a senior, Evie bounces almost everywhere she goes. She is good natured, easy going, affectionate and loves to be in the heart of the action.
This is one great little lap dog; she wants to snuggle and be close to her people whenever they will allow her to. She will need an owner who can spend some quality time with her and will allow her on the furniture so she gets plenty of lap time. There is a teenager in Evie’s foster home and she seems to like older children a lot; due to her size and age she is not well suited to kids under 10.
Her easy going nature allows her to quickly integrate with other dogs (there are 3 others in her foster home) and she seems to do very well with a wide range of personalities. She has quickly learned to wait her turn for treats and is learning basic commands like sit and down. Evie is eager to please and is a quick learner. She will benefit from someone willing to spend time teaching her and would enjoy the stimulation of a basic obedience class. We have not had the opportunity to have Evie around cats, but she is so gentle she would most likely do fine with a proper introduction.
Evie is housetrained; she is on a schedule in her foster home where she eats and sleeps at the same time each day, and takes frequent bathroom breaks at regular intervals. Evie is kennel trained and sleeps easily in her kennel, though she would prefer warm blankets and pillows on a sofa or bed.
While Evie is healthy she has begun to show her age a bit and is developing cataracts that make it difficult for her to see in bright sunlight - but she loves to bounce through the grass and it doesn’t slow her down. She gets so excited to go on her daily walks!
