Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Sam would be perfectly suited to a home with children. He has been with three ages 7,4 and 2. He has been nothing but sweet and has never shown any signs of aggression in any way towards any of them. The one thing they have worked on with Sam is jumping up when he just gets excited. He LOVES to play fetch, but can get so excited that he jumps up on whoever is throwing the ball or stick before they have a chance to throw it. He is pretty quick to respond to 'No' or 'Down', and is learning to control his excitement!
Sam is young and full of energy. He thrives on daily exercise and is a fantastic running companion. He has been taken on numerous 5-7 mile runs and he will run right alongside you with his tail wagging the whole time. He loves to take walks, play catch, frisbee and to just goof around in the yard with kids. While great on a leash when running, he needs work with not pulling and trying to take the lead when walking.
Sam is fully house broken and crate trained. He is not a barker and is fairly laid back and easy going.
Still being young, he does have a tendency to chew any shoes that are left unattended. He loves having chew toys of his own to play with!
While well socialized with adults and children, Sam has not had a lot of socialization with other dogs or cats. He gets very excited when we cross paths with a dog on our walks, and needs someone to continue to work with him on heeling and controlling his eagerness to approach every passerby when this situation arises.
Sam is a beautiful, darling dog who would be a wonderful addition to a family who can provide him with the attention and love that he so longs for and deserves.
