My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Bear! He is a long-coated male GSD. Bear is estimated 4 – 4 1/2 years old, but very active and energetic. Bear needs a home where he will be able to have lots of daily exercise and mental stimulation. He LOVES to play ball and go on hikes/walks. He can use some additional work on his leash skills. He is a people dog, so he will do well in a home that has someone home with him a lot and not left for extended hours for work and travel. Someone with a home office would be amazing for him. Bear has had limited training and this will be a MUST for his new home. We will require a commitment to training for any potential adopter. An experienced GSD handler will be the best fit for Bear. Since Bear is an active and excitable boy, a home with older children would be best. Bear likes to chase things that move, so we will not place him in a home with cats or small dogs. He has been in the home with a visiting large dog and done fine, but has little exposure to other dogs beyond that. Bear will need regular grooming of his long coat and ear cleaning. He has done well at the groomers. Bear has not been destructive in the home. He is doggie door & crate trained and likes his crate for limited periods of time when someone is away from home. Bear loves to go in the car and be with his person. Bear is a diamond in the rough with someone willing to put his exercise and training needs as a priority. Bear is looking for that forever home and we are going to be very sure that we find the perfect place for him.
