My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

If you're searching for the most devoted and loving best friend ever....Bentley is the pup you want to have around! Bentley, at 1 to 1.5 years old and 14 lbs, is just naturally a lover ....when he looks at you with those dark, expressive eyes and sweet smile, your heart just has to melt.

Bentley is a truly beautiful Miniature Poodle with all the traits that make these very smart and personality-plus dogs one of the most popular breeds around.

Bentley loves his people more than anything...he also loves to cuddle close on the couch with his beautiful head draped over his favorite person's leg...an occasional kiss from Bentley is inevitable. He's a sensitive guy and derives so much joy from his time spent with kind, dog-crazy people.

Bentley is a young, healthy guy who loves to play and is very energetic..he would have so much fun running loose (in a safe area) playing dog-games like fetch and just running for the sheer enjoyment. Bentley is always open to new activities...just say the word and up he jumps for some exercise and play.
.
Bentley's rescuer and the Kansas shelter had the following to brag about this sweet Poodle:

Bentley is an absolutely stunning purebred poodle with a beautiful face and the prettiest eyes ever.
He is an extremely affectionate and loving dog that you just want to hug!! We would love to see him in a home with a very active family or energetic retirees who have the time and love for a very loyal and kind dog. We'd hate to see Bentley left alone all day while his family works full-time... he's too sensitive for that. He will be a great and fun-loving addition to an active, dog-loving family.

Bentley's Denver area foster had the following to say about this sweet boy:

Bentley is very human friendly and makes friends very quickly. He is eager to please and learns commands very quickly with repetition. Bentley responds to his name with joy and will come when called. He is treat oriented and is always excited to work and comply. He is very inquisitive and smart..and therefore needs toys and challenges/games such as puzzles. Bentley plays very well with his family and loves fetch with squeaky tennis balls and fuzzy tug of war toys. Bentley absolutely loves to walk on a leash and goes along very well. He is perfect for very long walks and hikes (we've done 3 miles). Bentley has responded very well to potty training, going in the same place and on command "go pee" followed by a treat. He hasn't learned yet to give a signal that he needs to go out..we'll work on that next. If humans are eating at the dinner table, Bentley sits politely in the distance and is calm and appropriate.

The behaviors that we're working on with Bentley: He is high energy and once excited, needs diversion (maybe a game of fetch?) to return to calm. At this point, Bentley doesn't like his crate. We don't use it (why upset him?) He's happiest sleeping with us on the bed and we're good with it as well.

Farfel's Rescue would like to see Bentley in a home where he'll get consistent stimulation, exercise and tons of hugs. A continuing positive reinforcement obedience group class will teach Bentley how to channel his energy in a positive direction. it will also create additional family bonding as well as promoting great behavior and confidence.

Bentley, being a purebred miniature Poodle, is a non-shedding pup (considered to be the most hypoallergenic of all breeds). He will therefore require periodic grooming and great nutrition to keep his amazing Poodle coat cottony-soft and matt-free.

Bentley is currently in a foster home in Colorado. If interested in meeting this sweet and devoted best friend, please fill out an application at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/ and submit to farfelsapps@gmail.com or fax to 303-443-7730.
