Thor's Story...
This is Thor, he will be 3 years old on August 28. He loves treats, chicken and socks! Like most Sheppard’s he loves his family and is extremely tolerant of children, but strangers make him a little nervous, so it does take him some time to warm up to visitors. He has not had much interaction with other dogs but when he has he plays nicely and seems to enjoy the company…even with the ones that appear to be snack size. Thor is a smart puppy and has some basic training down but he could benefit greatly from someone who can spend a little time working with him and socializing him. Sadly Thor suffers from Addison Disease and requires monthly hormone shots. He is very affectionate dog and loves attention!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Thor, a Pottstown German Shepherd Dog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a German Shepherd Dog for sale in Pottstown, or seeking a German Shepherd Dog dog from a breeder in Pottstown.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Pottstown already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Pottstown breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even German Shepherd Dog breeders who help with German Shepherd Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Pottstown paves the way for another one to be saved.
