My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello World!
My name is Darling Decker and my Mom says I’m a perfect bichon boy. She says I’m a happy, friendly and adorable boy of 17 months and 17 pounds - and just as affectionate and gentle as I can be. I’m housebroken, crate trained, loving yet independent. Mom says that’s an amazing combination. (You can tell I have already worked my charm on her – and I wasn’t even trying very hard!)
Shortly after I arrived at my foster home, Mom came down with a cold. I watched to see what I could do – and stayed very close. Mom said she couldn’t believe it when I slowly reached over to the tissue box and, without wetting or chewing it, handed a tissue to her! Mom started calling me Dr. Decker and says that proves I’m an amazingly smart little cookie who sees everything! I tell her, “Hey Mom! I’m not a cookie – I’m a furkid!”
I love to play with my FurKid friend, Dickens, and am always extra gentle with him because he’s a puppy. When we both chase the fluffy bone I "let” the little kid win! (Just like your Dad let you win at cards when you were little!) But every now and then, the big guy has to win, too! So I proudly show Dickens that I can win – and he takes that in stride.
My other favorite things to do are to play chase and tug of war (with anyone who is willing!) Why I’ve taught Mom how to play – and taught her well! Then I taught her how to snuggle. She’s getting very good at that, too!
Mom says I greet most visitors with tail wags and smiles. The only time I’m not friendly is when people leaning over over the wall instead of knocking on the door. Mom says I have better manners than they do however once they come in the door ‘properly’ I’m fine.
I love to go for walks (I’m a good guy for long walks so grab your FitBit and off we’ll go) and rides (I’m a good co-pilot!) and I’m willing to go anywhere you want to go! My Aunties say I’m sweet, trusting and very well-mannered – and a quick learner! I’m also a very good boy so I get to sleep in the BIG people's bed at night (near Mom, of course!).
Oh and three other things: I sit for my treats and quietly wait for my leash to be attached when it’s time for a W-A-L-K. I know ‘Lie Down’ and ‘Down.’ (That means I’m not supposed to go on THAT couch!) I also do what Mom calls a gopher stand at supper, waiting for my bowl to be placed in its special spot.
Mom says I am eager to please, appreciative, calm and a master cuddle bug. I would be great in any home with or without another furkid. What I really need now is a forever family to snuggle with, play and ride with and call my own. Will you be the one for me? If you think you are, pleases complete our adoption application – and ask for Dr. Decker.
Bichon waves and wags,
Delightful and Devoted Decker
