My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

BUDDY is a sweetheart - a 2-year old black & red Miniature Dachshund and weighs about 10 lbs. Buddy is housebroken, crate trained and neutered. Buddy likes all people and dogs; he likes cats too but also likes to playfully chase them a little once in awhile. When Buddy came to Rover Rescue. we were told he had a trauma injury to either his back or rear end, which was treated with meds at the animal shelter down in Southern Indiana. He got better and was x-rayed up here when he came to Rover and the x-ray did not show any breaks or spinal damage.

Buddy is a very loveable boy and his most favorite location is on your lap! We don't know much about his previous life, but he did know how to catch treats when he got here. Buddy has free run inside the house all day - but when it's nap time, he disappears to take his snoozes... and has been located in various dog beds throughout the house hiding underneath the fleece blankets - which he dives under - then spins around a couple times until he is completely covered! What a smarty-pants! Buddy is very animated and has a beautiful shiny coat and such a pretty face and ear-set. He loves to snuggle and give kisses. Besides eating, one of Buddy's favorite activities is chase and retrieve tennis balls. He walks great on a leash, and at his foster home he enjoys running and playing in the fenced back yard and rolling in the grass. He is a very happy little lad. Two of Buddy's little pals here are just his size and are perfect for each other - a Puggle puppy and another mini Dachshund who are both permanent residents who have opened their hearts, doggie beds and toy boxes to Buddy for his enjoyment during his stay here.

Buddy will make a super, loving companion; he needs someone to give him a lot of loving time and attention. Buddy would love to be a forever brother to another little guy or gal doggie if possible. Buddy is neutered, up-to-date on his vaccinations, on monthly heartworm preventative and is also microchipped. Buddy's adoption fee is $200 (check or cash).
