My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This gorgeous young man is Scooby, a 3 year old German shepherd that would just love a great home of his own. Scooby came to us from our Newark facility when he was turned in by his family who could no longer care for him. It's a good thing that Scooby was turned in because he has some conditions that needed medical attention. We noticed right away that this happy-go-lucky guy had a problem with his eyes. While Scooby can see well and gets around just fine, there was still something amiss. We brought Scooby to an ophthalmologist for evaluation. It was discovered that Scooby has micropthalmia, a congenital defect that caused his eyes to be too small for his eye sockets. He was also born with cataracts. While surgery is not an option, Scooby does have dry eye and will need eye ointment indefinitely. There is a chance that he may lose some vision as he gets older, but he is very healthy and happy now, and ready to start over. Scooby is an absolute doll that loves people, loves to run and play, and just loves life. He is so outgoing and friendly, and very well behaved. Scooby will need a home with no other pets, but he just adores people and would make a wonderful addition to any lucky family that will give him the lifetime of happiness that he deserves.
