Hi ya! My name is Quinci. I am a very sweet, 2-year-old, neutered male, looking for the home of my dreams. I have a mellow, laid back personality. I get along well with other dogs, but prefer a home without cats. I enjoy playing with dogs, especially Buzzwell the Brilliant, Bijou and my best buddy Larissa, at the shelter. I weigh about 60 pounds. I love being petted and taking walks. I am neutered, microchipped, current on vaccines and tested negative for heartworm. Please give me a chance - you'll be so glad you did. Quinci lives at the Oakland County Animal Control and Pet Adoption Center at 1700 Brown Rd in Auburn Hills. The shelter will not put him up for adoption because of his appearance, so his only way out of the shelter alive is through a rescue. You can visit him any time the shelter is open.

Saturday: May 9, 2015: Adoption event at Oakland County Animal Control and Pet Adoption Center at 1700 Brown Rd in Auburn Hills. From 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., PFL volunteers will be at the shelter to adopt out the rescue-only dogs.
Saturday: May 16, 2015: Adoption Event at PetPeople, 6520 Telegraph Rd., Bloomfield Hills. From noon to 4 p.m. on the third Saturday of every month, come meet adoptable dogs, cats, puppies and kittens (as available). Adoption event dates for 2015: May 16, June 20, July 18, August 15, September 19, October 17, November 21 and December 19.

NOTE ABOUT BREED LABELING: Visual breed identification of dogs is unreliable and usually inaccurate. So, for most of our adoptable dogs, we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog
as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label.
Why is labeling a dog such a big deal? A label will stick with a dog for the rest of its life. A label can mean discrimination, losing its home or even death. Labels are a problem for the dogs when we, as the local experts on animals, allow adopters, politicians and community members to think that the label we assign can predict who that dog is or will be.

Adoption Process: Complete the application at
www.pawsforliferescue.org. We then arrange a location, date and time for you to meet some pets. If the meeting goes well and everyone is happy, you begin the mandatory, minimum two-week adjustment period with the pet as part of your family. You will pay the non-refundable adoption fee at the start of the two-week adjustment period. This pending period allows your new dog or cat time to adjust to their new home, new people, new routine, etc., and for you to decide if it's a match and the right pet for you. At the end of two weeks (some people extend the adjustment time as needed and that's fine too), if everyone is happy, then we finalize the adoption. Feel free to email if you have any questions.
