Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Sara is a 2 year 42 lb. plott hound/labrador mix. She came from a high kill shelter in southern Indiana where she was found as a stray with a limp. When she got up here to Rover Rescue, we took her to a vet where it was determined that she had been shot in the shoulder and the wound had healed over. The x-rays showed bullet shrapnel and bone fragments. She had surgery to remove as much of these fragments as possible, but she will most likely always have a limp. The limp hasn't slowed her down at all though. She is a very friendly dog with people and will lie on a person's lap to be petted. She is a "leaner" and if you are not ready for her, she will accidentally knock you over with her leaning. She is great with other dogs, but would do best with dogs at least 35 lbs and larger because she loves to play and sometimes isn't careful with little dogs. She is completely housetrained and crate trained. Sara is not good with cats and most likely not good with other small animals like rabbits and squirrels. She is spayed and up to date on shots. If you would like to meet Sara please call Teri at 630-897-7454. The adoption fee is $200.
