Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Poppet came from the animal shelter in Durham. She was very scared in her cage. She has adjusted very well at her foster home and is now playing with other dogs and with toys. She is crate trained if let out several times during the day and her foster believes she would also be house trained if allowed to go outside frequently enough. She is spayed, UTD on shots and on HW preventative. She rides well in the car and loves to be with you. Although she is not currently sleeping in the bed with her foster mom (there's just no more room), her foster mom believes that she would sleep in the bed if given the chance.
When Poppet gets scared she screams. She is getting much better with this. Her foster mom is also working on her aversion to having something placed over her head like a collar or leash. Once the leash/collar/harness is attached, she is great on a leash walking around outside.
If you would like to give Poppet a forever home, please go to chihuahua-rescue.com and then click on the adoption tab across the top of the page. This should bring up our on-line adoption application. Once you've submitted the application, someone will be right back in touch with you.
Poppet's adoption fee is $200.00. A home visit is required so she can only be adopted in NC/SC & VA and possibly neighboring states. If you have any questions, please contact carolinascoordinator@chihuahua-rescue.com.
