Rosey looked every bit the stray as she came into a very high-kill shelter in Kansas. It was possible that this sad 5-pound baby had never had a haircut or a bath in her entire 18 - 24 months of life. Rosey represents the sad opportunism that is so present in breeding the very popular designer breed mixes. They're treated so poorly and disrespectfully…and then disposed of when their perceived use is over. But…under all that hair and rock-hard matting..we see a truly adorable girl (with the cutest button nose ever) and the sweetest soul imaginable. Rosey deserves a great life every bit as much as any other living being. She has a wonderful disposition and through it all, still has the desire to love and be loved. Rosey is never one to turn down an open lap or a friendly canine companion. She tries so hard to show that she's worthy of a permanent family to love and respect her. Her beautiful long tail wags hesitantly when she sees a possibility for a pat or any loving gesture. She would be overjoyed if she got attention…it would bring a light to those sad eyes!
Farfel's is searching for that special family for this exceptional Maltese/Poodle mix. Rosey is clearly a non- shedding girl (made obvious by the severe matts in her ever-growing hair) Her coat appears to go in the Maltese direction and when healthy will lie in shining, cotton-soft waves. Rosey will therefore require periodic grooming and great nutrition to keep her coat beautiful and matt-free. If Rosey arrives on transport not having been bathed or given a haircut, Farfel's will cover the cost of an immediate grooming appointment at our groomer in Denver.
We're seeking a family for Rosey that wants to spend time with a furry best friend. She would learn from the gentle guidance and time put in by people who love her…and she will return that devotion a million times over once she understands that she can trust. We feel that Rosey would enjoy a retired couple or individual or a family with very gentle children (no tail-pulling or awkward carrying please) who will consider Rosey a best friend and therefore be very loving and kind to her. Rosey would also be overjoyed with walks in the sunshine. She really loves to get up and go...followed by some quality cuddling time on the couch. It's a new life of hope and fun that this sensitive girl is pursuing…she'll be so successful with the knowledge that she is loved and chosen to be a member of a family who truly loves and respects their fuzzy family members.
