Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Colby is a magnificent, plush, sensitive, people and dog-loving, seven-year-old, 45-pound, male black Chow Chow with an all black tongue looking for a loving guardian.
Colby is housebroken and crate-trained. He is aloof and nervous with new people but quickly warms up and loves to be loved. He is also great with other dogs.
Colby was abandoned in a field and landed at Chicago Animal Care and Control. Luckily a rescuer took a chance on him and brought him home as their foster. His teeth were worn down; he had testicular cancer and two of his toes were so damaged that they needed to be amputated. Colby’s cancer was cured by his neuter surgery and he has gained weight and is doing beautifully. All he needs now is a dog lover willing to give him a chance as part of their family.
Colby’s adoption fee of $200 benefits the rescued pets of Tails of Hope. He is now healthy, neutered, de-wormed, up-to-date on vaccines, micro-chipped, heartworm-tested, and on monthly heartworm preventative. He is currently at the Tails of Hope Shelter in Highland Park, Illinois.
