Here's what the humans have to say about me:
What a scary world it is out there when you're homeless and hungry...especially when you only weigh 8 lbs. DJ, a gorgeous 6 - 6.5 year old purebred Poodle (such a perfect age for a long-living small poodle - old enough to be past puppyish behavior yet young enough to have many active years left), found himself in this situation through no fault of his own. His plight was the result of irresponsibility and neglect...such a sad statement for the level of care that a human bestowed on this harmless dog.
DJ was the luckiest guy around that day...he was discovered and rescued by a wonderful shelter director who felt compassion when she realized how friendly and loving DJ was. He was a matted mess on the outside..but nothing but pure and grateful devotion and love on the inside! DJ's rescuer brought him home and dedicated herself to caring for him...and reassuring his abandoned psyche that he was safe. After many efforts to find DJ's correct family...the decision was made that he deserved a new life in Colorado. DJ would so love leisurely walks in the sunshine...he is overjoyed being outside and is capable of being a devoted companion for great socializing around the neighborhood.
DJ is definitely searching for a human friend that he can devote his heart to....and that person will be the recipient of 100% of what this little dog has to offer. He's a steadfast companion that takes his relationships seriously. We're searching for an adult home for DJ...a retired couple or individual who enjoy spending lots of time with a fuzzy guy would be perfect! It's not that DJ dislikes kids..we just feel he'd be more secure in the calmer reliability of an adult home. DJ also gets along with other dogs of all sizes...he's definitely a little guy with a big personality! We feel DJ could be happy as the one and only as well. He would blossom with the attention and caring touch of a dedicated family. In this environment, DJ will glow with joy at his incredible luck. He loves to please...and when he's successful, he struts his stuff with high self-esteem.
We've requested that DJ get groomed prior to his transport to Colorado. If this doesn't occur, Farfel's is happy to cover the costs for a spa day at our Denver groomer's salon. DJ is a non-shedding pup and will therefore require periodic grooming and great nutrition to keep his cotton-soft poodle coat healthy and matt-free. DJ has been completely vetted, neutered and Heartworm and temperament tested in keeping with our commitment to only adopting out healthy and well-adjusted dogs.
