Prince's Story...
This precious little Pekingese mix is Prince, a one year old boy that came to us from our Newark facility in search of a great home. Prince had a home, but was turned in because he snapped once at a grandchild. We do not hold this against little Prince of course and he has displayed nothing but sweetness with us. He does flinch terribly when a hand is raised above him, so he will need a home with no small children. Prince has a name that is totally fitting of his personality. They don't make them much kinder and more gentle and loving than little Prince. He is perfectly behaved and walks well on a leash, and he takes treats gently as well. Once you pick up Prince, he just melts in your arms and clings to you like a baby. He just loves people and is very affectionate. Prince seems perfectly fine with well behaved cats and dogs and he would transition easily into a home where he would feel safe, cared for, and loved for the rest of his life. File#24785 5/29/15

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Prince, a Forked River Pekingese dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Pekingese for sale in Forked River, or seeking a Pekingese dog from a breeder in Forked River.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Forked River already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Forked River breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Pekingese breeders who help with Pekingese rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Forked River paves the way for another one to be saved.
