Brigitta's Story...
Hi, my name is Brigitta! It’s pronounced Bri-GEE-ta. My brothers, sisters and mom (Maria) were found in the backyard of a Henrico Humane volunteer. I guess we were lucky because she took us in, gave us baths, lots of food and super comfy beds to sleep in. \r\n\r\nNot that I couldn’t have handled myself without help. My foster mom says that although I’m the smallest of my litter, I’m also the bravest. I’m definitely the first to explore new places and often lead my siblings to new and exciting places to play. My favorite toy is a mouse that I like to throw high in the air and then chasing them down. When playtime is over, I’m very proactive about getting attention. I make sure that my foster mom knows that it’s petting time.\r\n\r\nI would love to find a home that will love my big personality and give me lots of love!\r\n\r\nIf you'd like to meet me, please email to setup a visit. Don't forget to tell them you want to meet Brigitta!\r\n\r\nIf you're not sure which cat you're interested in or are just beginning to search for a companion, our adoption coordinators can help! Just fill out a short questionnaire at: that will help us match you with our wonderful cats then visit us at our Adoption Stand at West Broad Petco (next to Trader Joe's) every Saturday from 11:00 to 3:00.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Brigitta, a Richmond Domestic Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Richmond, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair kitten from a breeder in Richmond.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Richmond already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Richmond breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Richmond paves the way for another one to be saved.
