Reggie's Info...

Reggie's Story...
Reggie is a 3-year-old, male Maltese in search of a lifelong, loving home. He is a cute little goofball who needs to see the groomer (as you can see from his photo). Reggie is good with other animals but doesn't get along with children at all. Kids scare him so he wants nothing to do with them. Reggie is great with adults though and loves being a lapdog, going for walks and riding in the car. If you'd like to meet Reggie, please email pawsforliferescue@comcast.net. Adoption fee: $75.

Adoption Process:
Send an email to pawsforliferescue@comcast.net to tell us which pet you're interested in and we'll send you a questionnaire that will help us make the best match for you and your new pet. We then arrange a location, date and time for you to meet some pets. If the meeting goes well and everyone is happy, you begin the two-week trial run with the pet as part of your family. This is a trial period to give your dog or cat time to adjust to their new home, new people, new routine, etc., and for you to decide if it's a match and the right pet for you. At the end of two weeks (some people extend the trial time and that's fine too), if everyone is happy, then you sign the adoption contract and pay the adoption fee.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Reggie, a Troy Maltese dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Maltese for sale in Troy, or seeking a Maltese dog from a breeder in Troy.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Troy already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Troy breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Maltese breeders who help with Maltese rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Troy paves the way for another one to be saved.
