Edam's Story...
Meet Edam
This is one of our most perfect kitties we have ever fostered. He loves everyone! Edam was born in April, 2015, & has been raised his entire life with other kitties. He is still playful & inquisitive like a kitten, but also is content to cuddle & lie in a window. His red tabby markings are made more distinctive with his striking white feet & bib. Edam would fit into any sort of home as he is gentle enough for children. He has met dogs & is smart enough to be cautious at first, but is willing to give them a chance to become friends. He has always been a healthy boy, even though he & his brothers were rescued from being born in the cold outdoors. He is vaccinated, FeLV/FIV tested, microchipped, & neutered & has been dewormed & flea treated. To meet this cheerful tabby boy, call 540/586-6100 or go to http://www.bhsva.org/adoptions-home.htm to complete an Adoption Application.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Edam, a Bedford Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Bedford, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Bedford.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Bedford already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Bedford breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Bedford paves the way for another one to be saved.
