This adorable little guy has had his challenges in life. He lost his beloved human mom a while back. She doted and absolutely adored “her son," and while hospitalized, would always inquire how he was doing. A family member took him in after she passed away, but now due to a heavy work load that requires a lot of traveling, he will be going to another caretaker. This situation is only temporary; although they would keep this adorable boy in a heartbeat, unfortunately, the husband is highly allergic to cats.
The other sad situation is that little Sammy is suffering from IBD (Irritable Bowel Disease). His caretaker will be taking him to the vet in early July for another thorough checkup before we “release” him for adoption. Sammy will need to be kept on a special diet so his condition doesn't worsen.
Now on to all the positives about this little cutie pie. Sammy is a mild mannered, gentle, wonderful companion kitty. He is described as independent, and once he gets to know you, he will be quite affectionate. Did we already mention that he is just so absolutely adorable…really cute as a button, if I can state the obvious.
He loves to play, but really only when his human plays with him. Feel free to throw a small ball with a bell inside it, which he will chase for you. Just don’t expect him to bring it back to you since he is, after all, a Cat. His favorite toy is a feather at the end of the stick. He will chase it for hours as long as you drag it on the floor or bounce it in the air for him.
He sometimes talks to you, but is generally a quiet little guy. He is fastidious as all kitties are in that he loves his litter box and his bowls very clean…who can blame him?
The last picture shows that he just got a lion's cut – to me it looks like he is thinking, “What the heck happened to my clothes?” But then again, he may just be thinking, “Look at me now; I am still cute even without all of my fur.”
We are looking for a knowledgeable and seriously-caring adopter for this seriously-precious boy, someone who is committed to providing him with proper care and nutrition so Sammy can enjoy many happy years.
