My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

**Persephone has hit her 1 year anniversary back at Judge's Park. She's still patiently waiting for her new forever home :(
Breed: French Angora
Size: She's a big girl, about 8 pounds
DOB: 5/30/2014
Reason in Rescue: This amazing bun was surrendered to a shelter down in VA by her breeder because she "got too big." She came on an awesome animal transport train up to PA so we could get her spayed and find her a new home! She got adopted and the adopter had her for less than two years and didn't want to deal with her hair anymore so she returned her :(
Personality: Unfortunately the people that adopted Persephone neglected her pretty bad. Her coat was in horrific mats and she was scared to death to be touched. We've worked with her a lot over the last few months and she has made huge improvements. She can still be a little bit skittish, but she lets you pet her now and will snuggle. We have groomed her pretty extensively so her hair is quite short now. Her new adopters would need to continue her grooming, which is hair brushing every few days and the occasional shave down. Persephone does not like cats, so we prefer she goes to a home without them.
Special Needs: The adopter must be aware that she needs grooming and keep up with her coat!
Friends: Persephone prefers to live on her own and has not gotten along with any bunnies that have come to visit. If an adopter wanted to bond her, the male should be pretty laid back.
Ideal Home: Any home would be good for her! Adults only please
Requirements: Must be adopted as an indoor animal, with an as large as possible area or puppy pen. Adoption process: An adoption application must be filled out (email for the application), and approved by us. Then we will arrange a meeting time to see the animal of interest. A home visit is required prior to adoption. Suggested adoption donation is $60 which includes her spay.
