My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Dandelion is an incredibly cute ball of cottony fur that climbs into your heart (and lap) with a wiggle. Once he gets a sudsy bath and grooming that he needs so desperately...he'll absolutely be one of the cutest guys around. At 18 - 24 months old and 8.6 lbs, Dande is every bit the puppy-like kind of guy...fun and active....but at the same time he is a well-behaved pup who is very positive and sweet - he expresses himself with his wagging tail and excited hugs.

At this early point in Dande's development, he loves everyone..be it human or canine. We want to nurture this positive vision of the world by matching Dande to a family who expresses their devotion for him in many different ways. We'd like this little guy to attend positive reinforcement group obedience group classes to be the very best adult dog he's capable of being. Right now, Dandelion is a blank slate who will soak up positive feedback with every effort to be the best behaved guy around. Dande absolutely loves to be loved and will return this devotion a thousand times over.

We'd like Dande to be part of a family with gentle, dog-crazy older children (12+ would be great) or with active retirees who will include him in their activities. Dandelion is so portable that he can easily be a constant companion - he would love nothing more than leisurely walks, trips to the store (he's a great window-shopping friend) or even a place at a pet-friendly workplace. Dande is a perfect size to hike with as well...he can walk a surprisingly long way, but when he gets tired, slip him into a doggy-backpack where he can enjoy the view from above. Dande is young enough that he can be introduced to virtually any situation...and if there is love and gentle guidance...he can succeed.

Dande's Texas foster mom had the following to say about this very special dog:
Dandelion (or Dande) is just about the sweetest and kindest dog I've ever fostered (and that's saying quite a bit since I've been fostering for many, many years)! He's VERY wonderful, respectful and kind (oh my...I could go on forever about this virtually perfect lap dog! He's the perfect size and temperament to take everywhere. I've put him in my large purse with a blanket and taken Dande to stores and business meetings. He immediately became the center of attention just because he's SO sweet! I feel certain that Dandelion will do great with other dogs (and maybe even cats) and with gentle children - they must remember that he's a really small guy and treat him very respectfully. What can I say...I'm in love with Dande! He's just a loverboy!

Dande is a non-shedding guy and considered to be one of the top breed mixes for those with allergies. He will therefore require great nutrition (salmon oil will make his coat SO soft) and periodic grooming to keep his hair cotton-soft hair very healthy and matt-free.

Dandelion will be arriving on transport in Boulder on Friday 6/26/15. If interested in this adorable and sweet...and often very entertaining companion, please fill out an application at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/ and submit to farfelsapps@gmail.com.
