My basic info
Here's what the humans have to say about me:
We have a pink white female chinchilla up for adoption. Her name is Salt. She is approximately 2 years old (date of birth likely around May 2013).
Salt is a very sweet chinchilla. She enjoys hopping around her cage and loves running on her metal flying saucer wheel. She has a hidey house that’s turned upside down that she just loves sleeping in, and she loves her hammocks as well. She’s a sweet chinchilla and does well with being handled and petted. She sometimes will taste you, especially if you smell good, but she does not bite. She does well with being handled and petted.
Salt is a tripod. She is missing her one back leg, due to a cage accident that happened before she came to the rescue. She gets around just fine, and we have her in one of our normal rescue cages. She doesn’t need any special modification to get around, and if you’re not paying close attention, you wouldn’t even notice that there’s only one back leg, instead of two. It doesn’t slow her down in the slightest.
Salt came to the rescue when her owner’s job situation changed, and she no longer had the time to care for her chinchillas.
Salt has had cagemates in the past, but she is currently living alone. If you are interested in getting her as a cagemate for your chinchilla, or getting her as part of a pair from this rescue, let us know and we’ll see what we can do. However, we cannot guarantee that any two chinchillas will get along.
Salt would make a good “first chinchilla” for someone who has never had one before.
As with all of our chinchillas/rescues, this chinchilla will come with 2 pounds of food to start you out (Mazuri pellets), a baggies of chews, and a printed out version of our care packet. He will also come with a lifetime of help and support, should you ever need it. If more supplies are needed, we also offer a variety of other supplies for sale, including cages (new and used), chew toys, hidey houses, and much more.
Regardless of past chinchilla experience, all potential homes will be asked to read our chinchilla care packet and fill out our adoption application/chinchilla questionnaire. If you are unwilling to do this, please do not waste our time or yours. No chinchilla will go to a new home without an adoption application being filled out - no exceptions.

Salt would normally be $100 to adopt, but with our Awesome August sale, her adoption fee has dropped to $75! Must be picked up by August 31st!
