Hi! I am guest dog Willie and I am looking for a new home. I'm about 5 years old & weigh ~ 13 lbs. I am current on all my vaccines, have already made my no-puppy pledge, & am house trained about 90% of the time. Mom says I do best when kept on a strict schedule. I am crate trained and will walk on a leash/harness. I walk "pretty" but will want to stop and sniff / inspect things often.
I really love to play outside and hunt. For this reason, I'd prefer a home with a fenced-in backyard. I don't go after the big game though - just the small things like lizards and mice. I am quite adept at going after the ball but returning it is not my strong suit. I prefer to lay on it and keep it near me and have you come get it. It is such a fun game! I LOVE all toys. They say I am a toy hoarder but I prefer to be known as a collector of all things squeaky. Right now my favorite toy is a rather large snake that goes everywhere with me. I don't like to chew on anything but my toys and those yummy bully sticks. I am like most dogs because I will go for a car ride in a heartbeat. Just jingle those keys and I am ready to be your co-pilot. I especially like saying hello to all I meet. Also just so you know, I really like to cuddle and nap. It feels so good to be near my family. It makes me very happy.

DREAM is an all-volunteer rescue group, and we focus on the Atlanta, North Georgia and Savannah area. Because we are all volunteers, we can consider applications only within an hour of these areas. DREAM does not recommend purebred dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a doxie's back.
