Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Gerry is a 5 year old, 90 lb., gorgeous Chocolate Lab mix. His two-tone tuxedo coat adds to his character.
Naturally, Gerry is a lower energy dog who is a slower moving kind of dude.
In his prior home, Gerry lived with cats and is cat tolerant.
A nice long walk a day seems to be plenty for Gerry. He is currently on very large property that he explores however it’s not difficult to imagine Gerry in a condo or small home. He often chooses regularly to just go park it in his crate or the dog condo.
Gerry is a very good friend to all the dogs. If he could get to a dog park regularly, this would make Gerry very happy. Having a dog buddy is a really nice-to-have.
Gerry does well alone during the day especially if you are at work all day or gone for parts of the day. He is still all Lab so important to tidy up the kitchen counters and secure the trash lids!
Somewhere in his past, Gerry may have been mistreated and he prefers to meet strangers with a slow introduction. If you’ve had that dog before, you know then that they overcome all things tentative with love, consistency, reassurance and treats! Gerry would do best in a quieter home OR with an experienced dog family that will grow with Gerry and teach him how to move on and be comfortable with intros.
Gerry is very sweet and will try to lap dog YOU as much as possible. Rubs and kisses are his favorite so if you have some of those he is ready for them! He is basically a big baby and often times gives puppy eyes when he has to take a stern correction. He responds well to compassionate voices and knows what he has to do.
Gerry has proven to be a wonderful foster mate and family member, but he deserves his forever home so if Gerry’s calm energy, loyal behavior and beautiful physique strikes your fancy, please reach out to your SCLRR family rep.
